eGLM collaboration played a key role in the development of E-trucking

Six years ago, the concept of electric trucks seemed futuristic. In 2016, the initiative eGLM was launched, a collaboration aimed at investing in the electric Green Last Mile, in which our subsidiary BCTN took part. We jointly celebrated the conclusion of this venture on Wednesday November 23, at the Brightlands Campus in Venlo. The conclusion: eGLM was far ahead of its time and paved the way for technological and market advancements.

The contrast is stark. In 2017, the e-truck could only be ordered by a few innovative companies in retrofitted form. Today, all well-known original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are manufacturing e-trucks. The charging infrastructure for trucks has also significantly improved. The consensus during the End Event was that eGLM played a pivotal role in the transition towards a sustainable transportation sector. We are immensely proud of the results we have achieved together with all eGLM partners.
